This weekend, the Thamesford NBC league will be taking a break and the annual Shifters Tournament will be taking place at the community centre. This tournament always produces some great hockey action, and where there's fast paced hockey action, there's sure to be Ron Arts. Ron has been struggling this season, with only 5 assist to show in 13 games. His lack of offensive contributions has worried his fellow teammate, Marty Winter. " Sometimes I wonder if Ron even knows there's other players from our team out there on the ice, he seems to circle a few times, fall down, get out of position, then get called for hooking, or tripping because he's out of position. " Let's hope Ron has better luck in the Shifters tournament than he's had in the regular season thus far.

Justin Trepanier scored 4 times, and added 4 assist for his first hat-trick of the season and amazing 8 point game, while Kevin Hare netted 2 goals and 3 assist, making life for the Murray Shaw Home Improvements team simply miserable. After only scoring once on the veteran goalie Stewart "Groovy Goalie" Pye, who also assisted on the 2nd Trepanier goal, the scoreboard read 12 - 1 in favour of Dawg Wood Construction who finally got their second win of the season, after losing 2 straight prior to Sunday's game. The cheering could be heard from the road as Keith Verhoeven and Scotty Simmons, who again missed the game, embraced each other from the comfort of the Dawg Wood Clubhouse.
